The Nomas Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, has organized the "Nomas Wild Camp" in the "Labsair - Al Shahaniya" area, targeting youth aged 8 to 14.

The camp aims to instill values and enhance national identity by utilizing the leisure time of children in engaging in various activities related to Qatar's authentic heritage, customs, and traditions.

The camp, held three days a week throughout the winter season, focuses on teaching participants Qatari traditional dance, council etiquette, falconry, archery, camel riding, cooking, preparation of Arabic coffee, building traditional tents, and more.

In remarks to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), Ghanem Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, the director of the Nomas Center, said that the Nomas Wild Camp is being held for the first time in 2024 in line with the center's annual plan. He explained that the camp program includes a variety of activities allowing participants to familiarize themselves with the Qatari environment, traditional games, poetry and stories, hunting with traps, learning traditional knotting and lighting a fire, as well as archery.

Al Kuwari added that Nomas Center is organizing 12 similar camps in 2024, where a variety of theoretical and practical workshops will be offered. In addition to the practical application of the workshops, participants from Nomas Center will benefit from the experiences gained in previous periods. (QNA)
