The first phase of the electronic platform for the initiative and volunteer incubator Izdihar at Qatar Charity (QC) was inaugurated by Fahd Muhammad al-Khayarin, Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family.
The launch took place during his opening of the annual exhibition for civil society organisations at Expo 2023 Doha, in partnership with Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and QC.
Faisal bin Rashid al-Fahida, assistant CEO of the Programmes and Community Development Sector at QC, explained that the Izdihar incubator aims to develop and support capacity building of volunteers and humanitarian initiatives in all fields and raise awareness of their importance in advancing society and creating a better tomorrow.
QC's pavilion at the exhibition is dedicated to the Izdihar Volunteer Initiative and Incubator, which was launched in 2022, to introduce its role, programmes, and goals. Through the Izdihar platform (Ezdehar.qcharity.org), one can register and browse the incubator’s programmes and activities to benefit from the available volunteer opportunities, whether in person or remotely.
More than 21,000 male and female volunteers have joined the Izdihar incubator since its launch, and the number of volunteer opportunities provided by the incubator has reached 220. During 2023 a total of 150 were trained and programmes implemented, and more than 17,000 participants benefited.
