The counter-terrorism service in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq announced Tuesday that it thwarted an attack by three drones that were trying to target Erbil International Airport in northern Iraq.
A statement issued by the counter-terrorism service said that three explosive drones that were directed towards the military base of the international coalition against ISIS at Erbil International Airport were intercepted and shot down.
This comes after the city of Erbil was subjected to a missile attack early this morning, and the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps claimed responsibility for the strike that targeted sites in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Syria.
