Iran national football team's coach Amir Ghalenoei said that his participation in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023's primary goal is to win the title.
Ghalenoei praised his players' performance in their match against Palestine, which ended in a huge victory for Iran with a score of 4-1.
In a post-match press conference, Iran's coach said that the first match is always difficult, yet Iran's early goal made the match easier which led to a great victory, despite Palestine having strong defense.
He expressed his happiness with his players' performance and the match's result, looking forward to even better performance in the upcoming matches, pointing out that he treats any match as a final match, where winning is imperative.
Ghalenoei explained that for every match, he chooses the appropriate lineup depending on the opponent and the players that are capable of implementing his strategies and tactics, adding that this match's beginning saw the lineup succeed, with the substitutes also following suit.
Iran's coach noted the wide attendance on the part of both teams' fans and their wonderful support, especially that of Iran's fans, pledging to keep them happy and maintain the positive results in the upcoming matches.
Ghalenoei said that he will start planning for the Hong Kong match from tomorrow, hoping to achieve victory and qualify early to the next stage.
For his part, Iranian national team midfield player Saman Ghoddos expressed his happiness for winning the best player award, noting that individual awards appeal to him very much.
Ghoddos praised his team's coach who empowers him and enables him to give his best performance, stressing his willingness to play in any position the coach sees fit, especially that his only concern is to always be on the pitch.
