The International Criminal Court (ICC) announced Tuesday that it is investigating "possible crimes against journalists" in the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, where dozens of reporters were killed.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF), based in Paris, filed a war crimes complaint with the ICC last November, regarding the killing of Palestinian journalists in the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
RSF said that the office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, assured that crimes against journalists are included in its investigation into Palestine.
"The investigation of the Prosecutor of the ICC will cover crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court that are alleged to have been committed in the Situation since 13 June 2014", ICC confirmed.
Committee to Protect Journalists, based in New York, monitored the killing of at least 79 people, including journalists and media professionals, since October 7, the majority of whom were Palestinians. Palestinian Journalists Syndicate monitored the martyrdom of 106 journalists, media professionals, and workers in media institutions.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights expressed Tuesday deep concern regarding the "high toll" of Palestinian journalists who have been killed in the Gaza Strip.
