The final competitions of the Talaa Championship will be held Wednesday forenoon at the Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival in its 15th edition (Marmi 2024). The event, under the patronage of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, continues until January 27, under the auspices of the Al Gannas Qatari Society at Sabkhat Marmi in Sealine.
The first three places in the Al-Talaa Championship will be decided, with five falcons who qualified for the final from the semi-finals held Tuesday morning. Barzan (Falcons), Shaheen Salem Shaheen al-Dosari (Falcons), and Omair bin Mishaal al-Shahwani will compete in the final.
Muhammad Mubarak al-Ali, chairman of the Talaa Committee at the Marmi Festival, said that the competition in the semi-final qualifiers was strong this year. Miteb Mubarak al-Qahtani, director of the Marmi Festival, and Ali bin Sultan al-Humaidi, chairman of the Haddad Challenge Committee, crowned the finalists and winners - Al Majd, Mesaimeer, and Hamad Jaber al-Munkhas al-Marri teams. The finalist will receive QR100,000, in addition to competing in the final for two Lexus cars.
The Marmi Festival 2024 is supported by a number of entities, including the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund “Daam”.
The festival aims to document and promote the falconry heritage, which has been registered on the Representative List of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity according to Unesco since November 2010.
