The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, represented by the General Directorate of Endowments, launched the 10th edition of Al Muhadeth Al Sagheer (Junior Hadith Narrator) competition which comes within the endowment bank's projects dedicated to serving the Qur'an and Sunnah.
In a press conference Monday, Director of General Department of Endowments Dr Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed al-Thani said the competition is complementary to the Qu'ran contests across Qatar targeting students of both genders, alongside guardians in all schools. It focuses on the authority of Hadith as a source for religious and moral guidance.
Dr Sheikh Khalid urged students and their guardians to participate in the competition by registering their names and choose participation in one of the five branches on the website: https://awqaf.gov.qa/muhadeth
Held at all schools nationwide, the contest aims to instill the feelings of loving the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the participants, in addition to helping them internalise the values of good behaviour and high morals through pursuing the footsteps of the Prophet and adhering to the noble Hadiths of the Prophet.
It also intends to cement the memorisation of Hadiths to help them succeed in their academic studies, as well as solidify the Arabic language.
