Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD) is all set to host the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 media centre as well as fan festivities, a statement said Monday, quoting Msheireb Properties CEO engineer Ali Mohamed al-Kuwari.
Sikkat Wadi Msheireb will transform into the Asian Sikka, giving visitors exposure to the diverse cultures of the 24 participating nations of the tournament, running from January 12 to February 10.
Guests will be able to taste authentic cuisine, observe traditional craft-making, and view cultural exhibits and performances by artists.
A custom-built Human Foosball Arena in Sahat Wadi Msheireb will host friendly matches between fans. Up to 16 players will step into the cage designed to create conditions similar to a typical foosball table with live entertainment providing play-by-play commentary and music.
Barahat Msheireb will broadcast live evening matches. The entire Baraha will be closed off for the public during the games and visitors able to purchase an entry ticket.
Fans can test their football skills at stations featuring Football Bowling, Football Golf Target, and Subsoccer games for a nominal fee, competing for prizes while supporting their teams on screen.
Comfortable seating areas will allow visitors to recharge over a range of cuisines selected from MDD restaurants between interactive football sessions and matches.
The AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 is Asia’s premier national team competition viewed by billions globally. As the eyes of the continent focus on Doha, MDD will captivate fans and media by offering an unparalleled intersection of world-class infrastructure, cultural discovery and football revelry made possible in conjuncture with Qatar’s investment in tournament operations and visitor experiences, the statement added.
