Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi emphasized the necessity of concerted international efforts to halt the ongoing Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip.

During his meeting with European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, Albudaiwi reviewed the latest regional and international developments, notably the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. They discussed ways to enhance international and regional efforts aimed at ending this crisis and putting an end to this humanitarian catastrophe.

The meeting also discussed aspects of the regional security dialogue for senior officials from the GCC countries and the European Union, scheduled to take place on Jan. 24 at the headquarters of the Secretariat General in Riyadh, highlighting the significance of this dialogue in promoting regional peace and stability.

Additionally, they explored means to enhance cooperation between the GCC and the European Union and develop it across various fields, as well as the importance of collective action between the two sides in facing current challenges. (QNA)
