Farmers in Germany began on Monday week-long protests against the government's plans to reduce support for the agricultural sector.

They also intend to organize demonstrations and events aimed at obstructing traffic in most parts of the country.

The city of Hamburg, northern Germany, warned of traffic disruption due to farmers in the Schleswig-Holstein region intending to drive their vehicles to demonstrate in the city.

Farmers in Lower Saxony also plan to move on roads to Bremen to demonstrate.

Despite the government already withdrawing some subsidy reduction measures, German farmers are dissatisfied with the plan to reduce agricultural subsidies, including fuel subsidies used in the sector.

The planned protests aim to ensure the government completely withdraws its plan to reduce subsides. (QNA)
