An earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Tonga, in the South Pacific Ocean, on Thursday.
The earthquake occurred 112 km west of Houma, at a depth of 187.9 kilometers, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.
There have been no reports of human loss or material damage, and no tsunami warnings have been issued.
Tonga is an archipelago of 176 scattered islands in the South Pacific Ocean, of which only 52 are inhabited, located in northwest New Zealand and Australia. (QNA)
