Tunisian security forces have managed to arrest 67 militants in separate security operations within a month.

Since the beginning of December, Counter-Terrorism Units arrested 67 armed members wanted by the security and judicial authorities, the Tunisian National Guard said in a statement.

The statement indicated that the detained militants had been sentenced for their involvement in "terrorist acts."

Tunisia has witnessed in recent years confrontations between security forces and armed elements who take the western mountains as their stronghold, resulted in dozens of deaths from both sides. (QNA)
