Regional governor of Belgorod Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed that Russian air defenses shot down Ukrainian targets over Belgorod province, noting that the village of Soloti was subjected to Ukrainian shelling without causing any casualties.

The Ukrainian army stroked central Belgorod Saturday, killing 24 people, injuring 108, and causing various damages to residential buildings, private homes, and social facilities, Gladkov said.

Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said that Ukrainian forces attempted to attack Belgorod with munitions from Vilkha rocket launchers, but Russian air defense systems intercepted most of the targets; yet, several shells and missiles fell on the city.

Since the outbreak of war between Russia and Ukraine in February 2022, each party has claimed to have inflicted heavy losses on the other without being able to separately confirm the numbers issued in light of the continuation of the war, which international and regional efforts have not succeeded in ending so far.
