Helal Mohamed scored twice as Al Arabi ended Al Duhail’s title defence at the Ooredoo Cup, claiming a 3-1 victory at Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium on Thursday. Helal’s brace came in the 45+4 and 67th minutes, while Waseem Qaddari struck in the 34th minute. Duhail’s goal was scored by Khaled Mohamed in the 23rd minute. Earlier at Grand Hamad Stadium, Qatar SC edged Al Rayyan 2-1 to reach the semi-finals. Qatar SC took the early lead through Abdullah al-Ahrak in the first half, before Gabriel Pereira equalised for Rayyan. Ben Malango scored the winner for Qatar SC, who will face Arabi in the semi-final on January 2. In the second semi-final, Al Ahli take on Umm Salal.
