On the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Turkish-Qatari diplomatic relations, and the centenary of the founding of the Turkish Republic, the Turkish embassy in Qatar has launched an initiative to contribute to the Qatari Ministry of Municipality's campaign to plant 10mn trees.
Accordingly, the embassy planted 150 trees in the Old Airport Park, Doha. The tree-planting ceremony was attended by was attended by Mohamed Ali al-Khouri, Secretary General of Expo 2023, Hisham al-Ali, representative of the Protocol Department from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Dr Mustafa Goksu, ambassador of Turkiye to Qatar, alongside some members of the embassy, a number of journalists, members of the Turkish community, Qatari citizens and residents.
Dr Goksu stressed that the Turkish leadership always adopts initiatives with Qatar and puts them on the track of implementation immediately. He praised this initiative, which was launched by the Ministry of Municipality in Qatar to plant 10mn trees, indicating that that he felt excited to participate in this campaign by planting 150 trees. He noted that 50 of them commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkiye and Qatar, which reflects the spirit of cooperation and bilateral solidarity between the two countries, and a 100 trees in celebration of the centenary of the founding of the Republic of Turkiye, which in turn shows great appreciation for historical stations.
