North Korean leader Kim Jong Un confirmed that his country will respond to any nuclear attack with its nuclear weapons.

In statements broadcast by North Korea's Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim said that the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile this week demonstrated Pyongyang's commitment to not hesitate to launch a nuclear attack in the event of nuclear provocations against the country.

For her part, the sister of the North Korean leader Kim Yo Jong criticized the recently held Security Council meeting aimed at discussing North Korea's latest test launch of a solid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile, Hwasong-18, warning that it could lead to further provocations.

Pyongyang launched, last Monday, an intercontinental ballistic missile into the East Sea, which is the fifth launch of its kind this year and the highest number of missiles ever in one year. (QNA)
