In the name of Iraqi government and people, Charge d'Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Qatar Dr Mohammed Issa al-Issawi extended greetings and congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and to the government and people of the State of Qatar in the occasion of Qatar National Day.
In remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr al-Issawi expressed sincere wishes of many returns of this occasion while the State of Qatar enjoying goodness, security and stability, and making more progress and prosperity in all fields under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir. He wished Qatar continued progress in its distinguished role and position in promoting its strategies and achievements at all political, economic and social levels, which has made it an example to be emulated in comprehensive and sustainable development.
Everyone sees the State of Qatar' remarkable organization of major political, economic, social and sporting events, especially the impressive organization of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which was held efficiently and with precise and elegant organization that provided millions with the opportunity to learn about the bright aspects in the history and culture of all Arab countries and not only Qatar, pointing out that the State of Qatar was able to organize this event at a high level that dazzled everyone, and brought pride to all its Arab brothers.
The world was followed by distinguished organization of the opening of the Expo 2023 Doha exhibition, the biggest horticultural event in the world being held in an Arab country. All of this bears witness to the advanced strides made by Qatar in all fields, which have become appreciated and praised by the entire world.
The Iraqi diplomat commended the positive role played by Qatar at all levels, until it became at the forefront of countries that play a mediating role in all the challenges facing the world, specifically the Middle East region. At this historical stage, which is witnessing many global changes and political, economic and social transformations, Qatar continues to adopt a consistent policy of international co-operation, which has strengthened its position in international relations and empowered it to play an influential role in accordance with a policy that pursues transparency, realism, accurate evaluation and political balance, he added pointing that Doha hosted many dialogues between conflicting parties amid several initiatives to promote dialogue between cultures, religions and peoples, in a way that serves to achieve international peace and security.
Dr al-Issawi highlighted that the fraternal relations between the two countries derive their strength from the ties of common destiny, and common interests that bind the leadership and peoples of the two countries. The strong fraternal relations between the two countries extend to more than five decades and have been characterized by remarkable development in recent years, especially after the visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, to Iraq last June, and his signing of a number of agreements in several fields, including land and sea transportation, investment, and canceling entry visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports between the two countries in addition to developing hotels, residential buildings and hospital management, Dr al-Issawi said.
At the conclusion of remarks to QNA, the Charge d'Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Doha stressed that all of these matters are tributaries to strengthening and developing relations between the two brotherly peoples, pointing out that work is underway to strengthen them to broader aspirations that include all fields.
