The Minister of Youth and Sports of Yemen Nayef Saleh al-Bakri visited Wednesday the Qatar Olympic Academy, where he was briefed on the role of the academy in spreading the sports and Olympic culture, in addition to the various programmes and specialised courses it offers.
During his tour, the minister was introduced to the various facilities at the the academy and also visited its library, which includes more than 4,500 books and references, including books on games and sciences supporting sports, in addition to the library of audio and visual materials.
The minister announced the aspiration of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Yemen to establish co-operation with the Qatar Olympic Academy to develop Yemeni administrative and sports cadres, as well as to benefit from Qatari expertise and capabilities in the field.
During the visit, the minister was accompanied by Executive Director of the Qatar Olympic Academy Khalil Ibrahim al-Jaber, who explained the stages of establishing the academy and the development of its various programmes, courses and activities.
The Executive Director of the Qatar Olympic Academy referred to the courses organised by the academy in the past year in various sports and Olympic fields that raised the cultural, academic and Olympic awareness of students.
