Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas recently won the Conserving Building Award 2023 given by the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) at the Tarsheed Energy Efficiency Forum.
This accolade recognises the resort's unwavering commitment to sustainability and energy conservation, a statement said Sunday.
Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas has implemented a number of energy and water conservation initiatives.
Among them are: Installation of cutting-edge building management and guest room management systems; programmable logic control for AC chilled water system - innovative technology optimising cooling processes for reduced energy consumption; water saver faucets in bathrooms and kitchens; adoption of LED lighting, motion sensors, and timers to maximise energy efficiency; utilisation of treated sewage effluent water for landscaping through a drip irrigation system; installation of variable frequency drives to enhance energy savings in various systems; deployment of insulation, double glazing, reflective glass, and heavy curtains to optimise temperature control.
Additionally, Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas utilises LightStay, Hilton’s award-winning corporate responsibility management platform which helps to measure and manage the hotel’s environmental and social impact.
