Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) to Qatar Valerie Lusamba Kabeya has praised the efforts of the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre (Fanar).
According to a press statement from the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, the envoy praised the centre’s role in spreading and propagating Islamic and Arab culture along with Qatari heritage.
During her visit to the centre, she also hailed the centre’s initiatives to promote education and teach the Arabic language to non-Arabs while praising its interest in running diverse programmes for communities in Qatar.
According to the statement, Kabeya was briefed about Fanar’s work and its most notable programmes and activities.
Meanwhile, 34 students from the Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Centre at Qatar University (QU) visited the centre.
The visit was to learn about Fanar’s initiatives and its cultural efforts.
