The Volunteering and Community Service Center at Qatar University (QU) organized an event entitled 'world of opportunities: be part of the experience,' in cooperation with Ezdehar ( Initiatives and Volunteering Incubation) at Qatar Charity, to reinforce the importance of volunteering and encourage students to actively participate in building a sustainable and distinguished society.
The event aims to enhance the public's understanding of the importance of volunteering and its vital role in the development of communities, as well as enhancing the personal and professional skills of university student volunteers and enhancing the spirit of cooperation and teamwork among the participating work teams.
This step comes within the framework of the QU's efforts to motivate students to acquire new skills and develop their abilities to achieve excellence and success in various fields.
Regarding the event, Associate Vice President for Student Life and Services at QU Dr. Mohammed Diab said that these activities and events enhance students' understanding of the concept of volunteering and its importance and provide students with the opportunity to employ their skills and abilities by participating in volunteer activities. He pointed out that the experience of volunteer work reflects greatly on the personality and performance of students, making them capable of being resilient and self-reliant individuals, supported by the necessary skills that enable them to achieve success.
For her part, Head of Volunteering and Community Service Center at QU Shaikha Al Kuwari praised the effective cooperation with Qatar Charity to enhance the role of volunteers in the activities of International Volunteer Day, adding that special focus was placed on celebrating volunteers who constitute the essential element for the success of any event.
For his part, Regional Director of Bevol Platform Mohammed Al Kubaisi considered participating in volunteer activities a serious and important step, as volunteering carries great importance at the individual level, as well as at the level of institutions and schools, including universities, stressing that volunteer activities in these universities is a wonderful opportunity to participate and interact.
