The Heritage Library of Qatar National Library (QNL) held on Tuesday a virtual webinar titled: "Palestine: Memory of Place and Meaning, a Social Historical Reading," in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
The webinar, which comes in support of Palestinian people in their current plight and to propagate awareness on the Arab and Islamic history of Palestine, hosted the sociology professor at Birzeit University in Palestine, Dr Abaher Elsakka, the Jerusalem-based researcher, Ibrahim Bajes, and it was moderated by Tours & Exhibition Officer at QNL Ikhlas Ahmed.
Ikhlas Ahmed delivered inaugural remarks during which she reviewed models of the flagship collection of books, manuscripts, photographs and archival materials contained in the Heritage Library, which are considered important sources for increasing knowledge, and noted that the efforts of the Heritage Library are to make available sources and collections related to the history of Palestine and its place in Islamic and Arab civilisation.
