President Miguel Diaz-Canel has invited Qatari businessmen to invest in Cuba and benefit from investment opportunities being offered by the country.
The Cuban leader made the call during a meeting with a delegation from Qatar Chamber led by its chairman, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani, along with second vice-chairman Rashid bin Hamad al-Athba and several board members.
Diaz-Canel also said he is accompanied by a large delegation comprising ministers, officials, and businessmen aiming to strengthen co-operation relations that align with the aspirations and ambitions of both nations.
He highlighted the historic and deep-rooted relations between Cuba and Qatar, citing his discussions with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the strong conviction and desire to expand and develop bilateral relations.
The Cuban president expressed his interest in meeting with members of Qatar Chamber and representatives from the private sector to promote numerous investment opportunities in various sectors, such as renewable energy, tourism, water resources, pharmaceuticals, and technology, among others. He also emphasised that the Cuban Hospital in Qatar is a model of co-operation between the two countries, noting its distinguished reputation in the Middle East.
Sheikh Khalifa expressed his appreciation for the close relations between Qatar and Cuba across various fields. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between the chambers of both countries to help develop trade exchange and strengthen bilateral ties.
He highlighted numerous areas for collaboration between businessmen from Qatar and Cuba in areas like agriculture, energy, tourism, industry, and other sectors. Sheikh Khalifa lauded the presence of many Cuban companies in Qatar and expressed a desire to see more high-quality Cuban products in the Qatari market.
