Qatar participated in the opening session of the 33rd International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Assembly, which began in London Monday. HE the Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif al-Sulaiti chaired Qatar's delegation. Qatar's ambassador to the UK, Fahd bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, who is also Qatar's Permanent Representative to the IMO, attended the session. The IMO Assembly session will discuss several topics on maritime safety and security and marine environment protection. Also, a new IMO Council will be elected.
