The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has wrapped up the Regional Training Course on Marine Casualty and Incident Investigation, organised in conjunction with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). The training, according to a statement from MoT, was attended by several maritime specialists from the MoT, other government entities and some Arab countries. The course refreshed and updated maritime investigators’ knowledge of the IMO’s decisions and principles to assist national maritime authorities in conducting uniform investigations into marine casualties and incidents. The training also included explanations on the sharing of information among investigators for enhanced investigation co-operation at the regional level. The week-long course comes in the context of improving maritime specialists’ capacity and expertise in the field.
