The Juvenile Police Department Wednesday held an interactive forum titled 'Social Media and Its Impact on Youth,' the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said. Department director Brig Ibrahim Issa al-Bouainain and students from various schools attended the session at the Civil Defence Officers' Club.
The aim was to stress awareness regarding challenges posed by modern communication platforms, and to discuss innovative solutions for youth safety and to explore best practices to mitigate negative phenomena in their lives. Brig al-Bouainain highlighted the department's commitment to educating youth and parents through workshops and discussions in schools, sports clubs and youth centres.
The workshop yielded recommendations, emphasising the need for enhanced partnerships and awareness about the safe use of social media. It also stressed the importance of digital education, raising children's awareness and empowering parents to guide their children to safe and positive social media use.
