The Israeli occupation forces broke into part of Al-Shifa Hospital, the biggest medical complex west of Gaza City, at dawn Wednesday following six days of siege.
Eyewitnesses in the hospital told Palestinian news agency (WAFA) that sounds of gunfire were heard in the courtyards of the medical complex.
A state of panic and fear prevails among the patients, displaced people, and medical staff inside the hospital, after the occupation forces stormed the hospital, they added.
The Occupation tanks have stationed at the gates of Al-Shifa and surrounded it from all sides. There were intense bombing and gunfire in its vicinity in the past hours.
The occupation forces informed the medical staff at dawn today of their intention to storm the hospital which is sheltering thousands of displaced people, as well as patients and medical staff.
Palestinian Health Minister Mai Al Kaila held the Israeli occupation forces fully responsible for the lives of the medical staff, patients and displaced people in the complex, stressing that the occupation is committing a new crime against humanity, medical staff and patients.
The Israeli occupation army claimed that its forces were conducting an operation in a specific part of Al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza City.
More than 40 Palestinians, including injured and patients in the intensive care unit, as well as premature babies, were martyred due to the lack of oxygen resulted by bombing the power station, and the lack of fuel for electricity generators.
