The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs announced on Sunday the winner of the international branch of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani Noble Qur’an Competition Awwal Al Awael (First of the First) in its second edition.
The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the competition, in the presence of HE the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem al-Ghanem, a number of prominent Islamic figures, and a group of famous scholars and reciters from countries around the world. The QR1mn award was won by Mohamed Saad Abdel Jalil Abdel Qawi from Egypt. During his remarks at the closing ceremony, Chairman of the Competition Organising Committee Nasser Yousef al-Sulaiti said that the competition was a great success with the enthusiasm of its officials and the dedication of its workers.
