The competitions of the 10th edition of the Qatar Esfari Falcons Championship 2023 started Monday at Al Gannas Qatari Society Centre in Ras Laffan. The event will continue until November 11.
Twenty falcons qualified Monday in different categories.
The winning falconers stressed that they needed to exert extra effort in training and preparing their falcons to maintain such good results and guarantee a place among the finalists on November 11.
Hamad bin Saleh al-Massoud, head of Al D'aw (falcon speed race in coming back to the falconer after being released) Committee at the Championship, said that the competition of the first day was intense and displayed the excellent skill of the well-trained falcons.
He said that event also displayed the extensive experience of the falconers in selecting the falcons suitable for the race.
Falcons often fly in very low altitude in this category of the competition.
The 10th edition of the Qatar Esfari Falcons Championship is considered the start of the hunting and falcon tournament season.
It is also seen as a significant opportunity for falconers to assess the readiness of their falcons in preparation for upcoming championships organised by Al Gannas Qatari Society and other related events.
