Ali bin Saeed Aljafali al-Nuaimi-owned Ietibar with Faleh Bughanaim in the saddle recorded a massive 12-length victory to land the Asherij Cup at the Al Rayyan Racecourse on Wednesday.
The five-year-old gray mare, trained by Ahmed Kobeissi, remained dominant throughout the feature of Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club’s (QREC) third Al Al Rayyan Meeting leaving no chance for runner-up Naja’ah, piloted by Rashid Ali al-Marri in the 1200m Local Purebred Arabian Conditions race. Alberto Sanna led Ezzat Nafs to third place in the lucrative contest.
Sanna, however, returned with two victories having led My Glory to a two-length win in the 1100m Thoroughbred Handicap 70-90 contest. He earlier escorted Brown Owl to Thoroughbred Handicap 45-65 title in Wednesday’s opening race.
Wadhah under Soufiane Saadi and Mukabr with Mohamed Moussa in the saddle were among the winners along with Lulwat Al Faisal, led by Ronan Thomas and He’s A Dream, ridden by Shakir al-Balushi.
