The Qatar Press Centre (QPC) has strongly condemned the heinous crime committed Wednesday by the Israeli occupation forces targeting members of the family of Al Jazeera Network's Gaza correspondent Wael al-Dahdouh.
His wife, son, and baby daughter were killed in the bombing of a house to which they were displaced in the middle of the Gaza Strip.
"While the Centre extends its sincere sympathy and condolences to our colleague Wael al-Dahdouh and his family, it expresses its deep dissatisfaction with the use of military force by the Israeli occupation to silence journalists, threaten them, and kill their families without legal, humanitarian, or moral deterrent to prevent them from continuing their work.
"The Center believes that this deliberate crime confirms the criminal record of the Israeli occupation forces, calling on the international community to force Israel to stop these crimes and prevent it from targeting civilians, especially in areas that are supposed to be safe under international conventions.
"The Centre stands by our colleague Wael al-Dahdouh and asks God Almighty to inspire him with patience and solace. The Centre praises his determination and belief in his media message, which he performs live and round the clock, and for exposing the ongoing crimes of the occupation to the world.
"The Centre calls on the relevant international judicial authorities to take action to provide protection for journalists and civilians and to hold the killers accountable for this barbaric crime," a statement added.
