As part of the continued implementation of its campaign “With Education, I Can”, Qatar Charity (QC) received 150 new school bags with all the necessary supplies and stationery from students of Qatar Academy - Msheireb, to be distributed to orphans and children from limited-income families within Qatar.
The students of Qatar Academy - Msheireb were represented by the Islamic Education Department. Lama al-Kalash, assistant director of Qatar Academy - Msheireb, said: "This initiative, which comes for the second year, falls within the framework of our interest in instilling Islamic values, including empathy, co-operation, and love of goodness for others, in the hearts of our students, and aims to accustom the children to extending a helping hand and helping students who need school bags.”
The initiative was implemented in co-operation with parents and contributed to creating a spirit of competition among students in the field of charitable work. Al-Kalash explained that the idea of the initiative came from one of the students of Msheireb Academy at the beginning of the academic year. She also praised QC's efforts.
Farid Khalil al-Siddiqi, head of the Local Projects Department at QC, thanked the students of Qatar Academy - Msheireb and those in charge for providing school bags and supplies, noting that they will be distributed to children with limited income. He also added that QC's “With education, I can” campaign, also provides tools, expenses, and education fees for eligible students outside Qatar.
Al-Siddiqi expressed his hope that other schools would implement such initiatives to help orphans and children from low-income families, noting that QC had begun paying tuition fees for orphan students, as it recently distributed school bags with stationery to students with limited income from the Syrian community in Qatar, in addition to students from Al-Salam schools in co-operation with the municipality of Al-Rayyan.
Qatar Academy-Msheireb fifth grade student Ali Abdullah al-Muhannadi, said: "Through this initiative, we sympathised with students from low-income families and it gives a feeling of joy and happiness; because we helped others.”
