Qatar Museums has announced that it is now an affiliate member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). This historic affiliation has been formally introduced during the 25th session of the UNWTO General Assembly, that took place in Uzbekistan on October 19.
Joining the UNWTO as a Member will allow Qatar Museums ample opportunities to promote tourism as a driver of economic growth, inclusive development, and environmental sustainability.
Acting CEO of Qatar Museums Mohammed Saad Al Rumaihi said, "We are proud to announce Qatar Museums' membership in the UNWTO as we consider it a testament of our contribution to sustainable and responsible tourism. This membership reflects our commitment to utilize the tourism scene from a culturally enriching perspective through museum development and cultural heritage activation.
