A total of 13 schools participated in a training programme hosted by MES Indian School in association with Qatar Scouts and Guides for boys’ scouts.
Addressing the gathering, principal Dr Hameeda Kadar, complimented the role played by the Scouts and Guides in the promotional activities of the school and added that scouting develops self-knowledge and the need to explore, discover the world beyond the classroom. Scout Association Commissioner Jassim al-Hardan, scout activity experts Hamad Yousef al-Amri, Ahmed Khamis B al-Yousef, Yacub al-Thamimi, Ganim al-Kwari, Hezam Nagi Hezam al-Masleh, Muna Jumah al-Mansouri, Sana Sulthan and expat schools co-ordinator Paramjeet Kaur Bhullar were present.
The sessions focused on concepts such as promise, law, scarf folding, salute and camping equipment. Nesseem Health Care and Community Police undertook an initiative to create awareness among the Scouts. The day also witnessed an exhibition by MES students on Qatar culture.
The guides in charge Asha V Nair welcomed the gathering. Mary Jainsha compered the programme and overall in charge Rajesh proposed a vote of thanks.
