About 1,500 people attended the Onavillu-23 celebrations hosted by Engineers Forum, Qatar, on a grand scale at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
The event was inaugurated by Indian ambassador Vipul in the presence of various prominent members from the community.
The day's festivities included a wide range of activities, such as Qatar’s biggest flower carpet competition among engineering college alumni, a traditional procession featuring art forms, chenda melam performances, and various in-house cultural activities by EF members along with the Onam lunch.
The event also marked the release of 'Effusions 23,' a combined magazine and member data directory of Engineers Forum members, 'EFTECHZINE,' a technical journal, and the 'EF mobile app.'
The event emphasised the importance of sustainability through awareness activities. The entertainment featured performances by popular singer Sachin Warrier and Ann Amie with their band, followed with a DJ party by DJ Savio.
The gathering was welcomed by EF general secretary Zakir Husain. Mibu Jose gave presidential address cultural secretary Samjad proposed a vote of thanks. Sreejisha was the co-ordinator for the event.
