DPS Modern Indian School conducted the 4th Intra-School Qur’an Recitation Competition. Sheikh Ahmad Abdul Fattah Ramadan, a Hafiz and instructor of the Holy Qur’an was the chief guest and chief judge.
Margubur Rahman and Mohammed Ilyas, who are Alim, Fazil and Hafiz of the Holy Qur’an, and Imam and Khateeb in the Masjids under Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs, Qatar, were the other judges.
School principal Asna Nafees and vice principals Hyacinth Mary Cruz and Shifa Shaikh were present. In the final round of the competition, students recited Surahs assigned for each grade level.
The event provided students the motivation and incentive to strive towards perfection in recitation and memorisation, alongside getting acquainted with the Holy Qur'an.
Out of 152 students from grades I - VIII who auditioned for the competition, 47 students were selected for the final competition and 24 won the first, second or third positions at each grade level.
The event was co-ordinated by the departments of Arabic, Urdu and Islamic Studies.
