The workshop on the role of imams and preachers in promoting values among young people and maintaining ties and family security concluded Wednesday.
The event brought together more than 450 preachers and imams of the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs.
The three-day workshop, organised by the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Community Police Department, aimed to clarify the concept and tasks of community policing for imams and preachers, its role in treating societal and behavioral problems, and to bring the picture closer to the importance of family security and its impact on the family, society in general.
It also sought to explain how to activate the role of parental control and the harms of the absence of this role on family structure, in addition to highlighting the integration of roles and its impact on family stability, as well as explaining the negative impact of the Internet and social networking sites on young people and ways to prevent them.
