Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli occupation's bombing of Al Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, and considered it a brutal massacre, a heinous crime against defenceless civilians, and a blatant violation of the provisions of international law and international humanitarian law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, in a statement Tuesday, that the expansion of Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip to include civilian objects, including hospitals, schools, and gatherings, is considered a dangerous escalation and portends dire consequences for the security and stability of the region.
It also warned, in this context, that the complicity of the international community, sometimes with silence, and sometimes with selectivity regarding war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the occupation against the Palestinian people will increase the state of tension, expand the cycle of violence, and lead to further escalation and instability. In this regard, it called on the international community to assume its responsibility and prevent Israel from committing more crimes against civilians.
The Ministry reiterated Qatar's firm position on the justice of the Palestinian issue, the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and the establishment of its independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
