HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani has held telephone conversations with foreign ministers of several countries in an effort to alleviate the sufferings of the Palestinian people in the besieged and bombed Gaza Strip.
During these calls, they discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and Israel and ways to reduce the escalation.
HE Sheikh Mohamed expressed Qatar’s firm position in condemning all forms of targeting civilians and that killing innocent civilians, especially women and children, and the practice of collective punishment policies are unacceptable under any circumstance.
In light of the deteriorating conditions in the Gaza Strip, it is urgently needed to open humanitarian corridors to ensure that relief and aid reach the Palestinian brothers who are under bombardment, HE Sheikh Mohamed said.
His Excellency underscored the significance of co-ordinating regional and international efforts to stop the aggression on Gaza and tirelessly work to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.
He warned of the danger of attempts to force the Palestinian people from Gaza, stressing the justice of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and their right to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

On Friday, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani held a telephone call with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
During the call, they discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and Israel and ways to reduce the escalation.
HE Sheikh Mohamed stressed the United Nations’ role in mobilising international efforts for calm and de-escalation and working to ensure the opening of humanitarian corridors to facilitate the flow of medical and relief aid to those affected in the Gaza Strip, in addition to working to provide protection for humanitarian workers and journalists while carrying out their professional duties in Gaza.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also received a telephone call from High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.
