The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) has stressed the importance of international concerted efforts to halt the collective punishment approach pursued by the Israeli occupation forces by depriving the Gaza population of the essential livelihood requirements, which is a flagrant violation of the international and humanitarian law that would further aggravate the situations in the Middle East.

It also represents a flagrant violation of international charters and laws and hampers the efforts of the peace process to solve the Palestinian cause, GCC outlined.

In a statement on Saturday, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi reiterated his call for the international community to intervene strongly and rapidly to halt the aggression on Gaza and find a political solution for the crisis to ensure the legitimate rights of Palestinian people in establishing their state on the 1967 borders with Eastern Jerusalem as its capital to achieve the promised peace and stability in the occupied Palestinian territories.
