The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum (QOSM) successfully put together a pop-up exhibition titled ‘The Race Begins: Formula 1’ at the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix 2023. The initiative was in collaboration with Lusail International Circuit, with Qatar geared to host F1 over the next decade.
‘The Race Begins: Formula 1’ exhibition was on view from October 6 to 8 at The Paddock Club, Lusail International Circuit, providing F1 ticketholders with the opportunity to encounter iconic pieces of F1 history. These include the Ferrari F1-2000 Formula 1 Racing car driven to victory by Michael Schumacher in the 2000 European Grand Prix races, Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari Suit, and the first helmet of F1 legend, Ayrton Senna.
“Formula 1 has grown to become one of the most exciting and most watched sports. To celebrate this, we created a memorable exhibition to coincide with the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix 2023, so that, along with its remarkable history, we could also showcase a glimpse of how Qatar has prepared to host this mega sporting event through our exhibition”, said the director of 3-2-1 QOSM, Abdulla Yousuf al-Mulla.
‘The Race Begins: Formula 1’ exhibition explored the history of the races and relived the iconic circuits, unforgettable races as well as the racing legends for its visitors. The exhibition was housed at the Lusail International Circuit with an extension at QOSM through a trail map to the museum’s Gallery 4, Gallery 5 and 6.
