Qatar News Agency (QNA) launched Tuesday its first journalism training course, in cooperation with Al Jazeera Media Institute.
The training course, entitled "Comprehensive Journalist", will be held at the newly inaugurated QNA Training Center in Qatar News Agency building in Al Dafna, in implementation of the QNA's plans to develop its cadres and raise their efficiency by offering specialized qualitative training programs, supported by professional trainers and experts in the field of journalism and media.
Eleven journalists from QNA employees will attend the training course which runs until October 18.
The course includes two parts: "Journalism Editing" which will introduce journalistic editing is, its rules, its importance in media institutions, news editing techniques, press headlines and their importance, the rules that help in drafting them, and writing news reports, their types and advantages.
The second topic "Mobile Journalism" deals with narration methods and stories suitable for mobile phones, visual composition, sizes and angles of shots, montage techniques, and other related topics.
The first part will be held at QNA training halls, and will be presented by coach Mohammed Dawood, Director of Quality Control and Editorial Standards Sector at Al Jazeera Media Network. The second part will be held at the Al Jazeera Media Institute, and will be presented by media expert Dr. Hossam Wahba.
Certificates will handed over to the participants in QNA building at the conclusion of the training course.
The "Comprehensive Journalist' training course represents the actual launch of the QNA Training Center which has become prepared to organize training courses in the fields of journalism and media, whether for QNA employees or for employees of other agencies in the country, in line with QNA's objective to be a house of expertise for qualifying national cadres in this field.
The course includes theoretical and practical aspects with the aim of enabling journalists to master journalistic work, especially editing news and writing press reports with high professionalism, in addition to keeping pace with one of the forms and arts of new media, which is "mobile journalism" that dominates the media scene at the present time. The course aims at enabling journalists to carry out the tasks assigned to them, such as editing news, writing news reports, taking press photos, filming video, editing and writing news stories, and publishing them on the Agencys various news platforms.
At the conclusion of the course, the trainees will be assigned to prepare a graduation project - an integrated mobile media project - to measuring the extent of benefit from this course.

The cooperation between Qatar News Agency and Al Jazeera Media Institute comes within the framework of QNAs plan to strengthen partnerships with local, regional, and international training institutions and centers.
Recently, QNA cooperated with Turkiye's Anadolu Agency to organize a training course for QNA journalists entitled "New Generation Journalism and Multimedia".
The five-day training course was held at the Anadolu Agencys News Academy, and was attended by six QNA journalists.
The course presented 14 lessons covering various topics, including new agencies journalism, social media platforms, video shooting techniques, planning and designing social media content, photography techniques, image processing and sending techniques.
