Palestine called for holding an emergency meeting of the Arab League's Council of Arab Foreign Ministers at the earliest possible date to discuss ways to mobilize a political action at the Arab and international levels in order to halt the ongoing Israeli aggression and hold its perpetrators accountable, provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and achieve peace and security based on international law, international legitimacy resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

In statements to Palestinian news agency (WAFA) on Sunday, Palestines Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Mohannad Aklouk said the urgent meeting comes in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, including the escalation of incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by thousands of settlers and Israeli officials over the past days. This has been followed by an unprecedented escalation in Gaza Strip, with Israeli attacks targeting the killing and terrorizing of civilians, the destruction of residential towers and infrastructure.
