Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi underlined the importance of the International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha at a time the international community is exploring the best means to preserve the environment in order to ensure sustainability environmental life and counter the challenges facing this sustainability.
In remarks on the sidelines of his participation in the official opening ceremony of Expo 2023 Doha yesterday, Albudaiwi said that Expo Doha combines innovations in horticulture, sustainable design, and environmental conservation; and seeks to promote awareness of the importance of nature conservation and promoting sustainability in the field of horticulture and agriculture.
The GCC Secretary-General underlined that Qatar's hosting of this global event demonstrates the confidence of the international community in Doha's distinguished capabilities. This is a source of pride and honor for all GCC countries. He wished the State of Qatar all the best and success during its hosting of this exceptional event.
Albudaiwi noted that the GCC General Secretariat is taking part in the Expo with a pavilion titled "Towards a Green Gulf... for Sustainable Environment" with the aim of highlighting the most important topics of the joint Gulf action and the joint plans and strategies in the fields of environment and agriculture, in addition to the most important current and future GCC joint projects in these areas.
