In a special cultural evening organised by the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), under the aegis of the Indian embassy to mark ‘Teachers’ Day’ celebrations, five teachers of MES Indian School along with teachers of various other Indian schools in Qatar were honoured for their significant contribution to the field of education.
The recipients of the ‘Best Teachers’ award from MES Indian School were Thithaymu Abdul Azeez, Noorjahan Mushtaq Ahmed, Mary Cynthia, Biji Paul and Ramalingam Gangadharan in the K.G, Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary categories.
The criteria for the selection included excellence in academic achievements, contribution to students’ growth, and innovative activities initiated by the teachers.
Inaugurating the ceremony, Indian ambassador Vipul lauded the efforts of the teachers in playing a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of students, and gave away the awards.
MES Indian School principal Dr Hameeda Kadar was presented with a memento on the occasion.
More than 150 teachers and principals from various Indian schools in Qatar participated in the ceremony.
