Qatar University (QU) launched Monday the QU Career Fair for its students, to meet and interact with 73 potential employers from various sectors such as energy, industry, finance, business, education, and health.
The four-day event also provides employers with the opportunity to attract effective employees through a direct meeting with students.
QU president Dr Omar al-Ansari, the Civil Service and Governmental Development Bureau's (CSGDB) Civil Service Affairs director Saif Ali al-Kaabi, as well as a number of senior officials from QU, and representatives of the participating ministries and entities were present at the opening.
Gadeer Mohd Zainal, head of Student Employment, Career Development Centre, noted that the Career Fair is one of the important events that QU is keen to organise on an annual basis, as it brings together the largest number of employees under one roof.
The QU Career Fair provides countless opportunities for students; this includes summer training, academic sponsorship, information about the labour market, and informs students about the required specialisations and the necessary skills. The event also provides students with the opportunity to develop their networking skills.
