Qatar Charity (QC) launched the second edition of the Tamkeen programme under the slogan “Tomorrow’s success we create today,” which provides support to owners of ideas and small projects, a statement said on Monday.
The initiative is in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and Family, the Ministry of commerce and Industry, Qatar Development Bank, Namaa to enable social entrepreneurs and youth, Qatar University the Development Center Global Consulting and Confoso Technical Solutions.
Abd al-Rahman al-Hajiri, director of Programmes and Community Development at Qatar Charity, said: “Qatar Charity places at the top of its priorities its community programmes to build people, hone their potential, enable them to develop their abilities, improve the living conditions of families with limited income, enhance the financial and social stability of deserving families, and move them from care to development."
The partners participating in the opening ceremony praised the programme and QC’s keenness to involve government and private agencies in economic empowerment projects in support of the Qatari community and to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030, regarding the economic development pillar, which focuses on developing a diversified and competitive national economy capable of meeting the needs of citizens and residents. in Qatar.
The Tamkeen programme in its first edition (2020) achieved good results, as participants benefited from the training workshops to advance their projects. QC and the partners also followed up on the winning projects and their work procedures through a promotional campaign aimed at introducing the community to them and supporting them to stimulate young people to engage in similar projects in entrepreneurship, the statement added.
