HE the Minister of Sports and Youth Salah bin Ghanem al-Ali honoured the winners of the research competition organized by the ministry in coordination with the National Committee for Combating Terrorism and Violent Extremism during a ceremony held for this occasion.
Ten research projects prepared by young individuals in this field were the winners of the competition. The competition aims to raise awareness among youth about the concepts and factors leading to extremism, as well as to understand the national and international efforts in this regard. It also seeks to broaden the knowledge and initiative of young people to propose solutions and recommendations for addressing this global phenomenon.
During the ceremony, the top 10 winners of the competition were honoured, and certificates of appreciation were distributed to 60 young men and women who participated in the competition, ranging in age from 15 to 39. This was in recognition of the efforts they put into preparing their research projects.
A committee of specialists from the ministry evaluated the submitted research projects based on specific objective criteria. The committee then selected the top ten winning research projects from the total submissions. It's worth noting that this competition is part of the ministry's implementation plan to achieve the goals of the National Strategy for Combating Terrorism and Violent Extremism. The ministry's plan includes various youth and sports programs.
The list of the top 10 winners in the competition is as follows: Muneera Mohamed Shaher al-Otaibi (1st place), Hamad Mohamed Wahid Hussein (2nd place), Reema Hamad Jasim al-Hamr (3rd place), Habiba Tarek Lotfi Mohamed (4th place), Reem Rashid Mubarak al-Hajri (5th place), Wadha Mohamed Rashid Saleh (6th place), Maryam Hamad Jaber al-Bredie (7th place), Salman Mohamed Abdul Rahman al-Mudahka (8th place), Nawal Hadi al-Mari (9th place), and Ali Saleh (10th place).
