Al Sheehaniya Municipality's Health Control Section Department has carried out an extensive inspection and awareness campaign on food establishments in Meknes. There were 74 inspection tours, where three violation reports were issued in accordance with Law No 8 for 1990 on the regulation of human food control. Some food items found unfit for human consumption were destroyed. The veterinarian team and inspectors also supervised the education of restaurant workers on the importance of adhering to food safety standards and their impact on health. They distributed wall posters regarding the proper methods of thawing frozen meat and the importance of segregation when using cutting boards to prevent cross-contamination.
