Ooredoo has reaffirmed its commitment to knowledge sharing and community engagement by hosting students from Georgetown University in Qatar’s (GU-Q) International Executive Master of Professional Studies in Emergency & Disaster Management.
The students had the unique opportunity to visit Ooredoo’s Service Operations Centre (SOC) and witness the practical implementation of disaster recovery protocols.
During the visit, students had the exclusive chance to witness the real-world application of the knowledge they had acquired in the classroom.
Ooredoo chief technology and infrastructure officer Günther Ottendorfer and the SOC management provided valuable insights and guidance during the visit, explaining the intricacies of disaster recovery protocols.
Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari, director, PR at Ooredoo Qatar, said: “This visit allowed the students to see how the theories they study in the classroom translate into real-world applications.”
GU-Q's International Executive Master of Professional Studies in Emergency & Disaster Management programme emphasises communication, trust-building, and collaboration, which are critical components of effective emergency and disaster management.
By facilitating interactions between students and experienced professionals in the field, the programme aims to create a network of leaders capable of addressing and mitigating complex challenges on a global scale.
